This is usually the section of a bio where I list all the qualifications that make me an expert on the topics I write about. Well, here’s the deal: I graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in advertising and have spent my professional life in the sales industry. I haven’t written anything beyond necessity in over a decade. On the surface, you, the reader, might have every reason to move on to the next blog.

My Journey

Where I lack in traditional qualifications, I make up for with unique life experiences. Early in my professional career, I was highly successful, producing in the top percentile of sales and climbing the corporate ladder. I then decided to pursue the American dream by starting my own business. Two years later, the business failed, providing me with the most humbling experience of my life. During this time, I was also diagnosed as Bipolar II.

Out of that struggle, I have spent the past decade reading, listening, and studying different philosophies, psychology, and various fields related to human behavior. I believe that the insights I’ve gained on this journey apply to the sporting world just as much as any other.

My Mission

My goal here is simple: to make you think and consider ideas that you haven’t before. If my content can achieve that, then this blog is a wild success in my book.

A Bit More About Me

Being from and living in the metro Detroit area, I couldn’t escape being a Lions fan. While I strive to leave my biases at the door, this team is undoubtedly the hardest for me to do that for!

I live with my beautiful wife, dog, two cats, and spend my free time with them. I also enjoy playing basketball, volleyball, and bowling. We love visiting northern Michigan and spend several weekends a year there with family.

A Quote To Live By

One of my favorite quotes that guides my approach to both life and sports is from Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave”: “The unexamined life is not worth living.” This philosophy underpins my dedication to digging deeper and seeking wisdom in all things, especially in sports.
